‘When I enrolled in the internationally renowned 3yr Dru Meditation Teacher Training course I was following my instincts. Something was telling me that this was the course I needed to do. From the very first module it felt like the teachers were speaking a language I knew. I have always loved mindfulness and moving into the present moment but meditation was taking stillness to a very potent level.’ Nel explains. ‘My first teaching role was for the Cancer Council, teaching Deep Relaxation. Thats when the true power of inner calm appeared.’
Meditation is the discovery of the space in between all else. It is being in the moment, free, at peace, deeply calm and centred. Meditation is a skill you can develop and eventually move into effortlessly but at first it certainly doesn’t seem so simple. With regular practice it can be a delight, a comfort, a nourishing relief.
Meditation can inspire deep satisfaction, purpose and true happiness. It is possible to bring the mind to a very relaxed still point, this is when emotions settle, tensions go and our wisest self is more noticeable. It is possible to sense intuition, improve energy levels and become clear in your most productive action and intention for the day ahead. In the evening Meditation can be practiced to improve sleep, establish an evening gratitude ritual and boundaries can be gently established between work, rest and play. What matters most, returns to the surface of our life when Meditation is valued.
